GSE-IT has received a handful of tickets and can confirm that there has been NO data loss to date.

❓ FAQs:

Here are the most common issues reported:

  1. Why do I see a folder with my name in Dropbox?

This is the new top-level folder in Dropbox. You will find all your files inside.

  2. Some of my old personal files and folders are missing. Where are they?

Look for a "GSE" folder. Inside, you may see "Users" and "Shared" folders. Some will see their name under "Users," which contains familiar content from the old Dropbox file structure.

💡 Pro Tips:

Before reporting a missing or corrupted file, please visit dropbox.com to explore the folders and confirm your content exists. Note that you may find it in a different folder than expected. It takes hours for Dropbox to migrate your files. If you have tons of files stored in Dropbox, please make sure to have a stable internet connection and be patient with the migration to take place.

eg., a Dropbox user with 84,000 files needs 7 hours for all the files and folders to be migrated.

  • If your files exist online but are not syncing to your computer, you can reinstall the desktop app and check the Dropbox icon on the task bar to show the "sync" 🔄 symbol on it.
  • If your Dropbox desktop app does not launch, open a ticket for IT help

We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this transition.
