Student Guide: Turnitin Guide

What is it?

Turnitin is a software used to check for originality in submitted work. Depending on your instructor's preferences, your course may use this feature. When submitting a Turnitin-enabled assignment, the process is straightforward; the main added step is accepting the terms and conditions of the EULA (End User License Agreement).

How it works?

To submit a Turnitin-enabled assignment:

  1. Navigate to "Assignments" and click on the specific assignment you wish to submit.
  2. Click "Submit Assignment."
  3. Press the "Choose File" button and pick a file from your computer. Repeat this step if multiple files are to be uploaded.
  4. Optionally, you can leave a message for your instructor, TA, or grader in the “Comments” section.
  5. Before submitting, check the box next to “I agree to the tool’s End-User License Agreement.” It's advisable to familiarize yourself with the End-User License Agreement (EULA) of Turnitin before your initial submission.
  6. Click Submit Assignment to complete your submission or Cancel to cancel it.
